Children's Bible Quizzing

Purpose
Children's Quizzing is designed as a Bible study for children. It is to teach children how to study the Bible, increase Bible knowledge, and provide an opportunity for children to test their Bible knowledge.

Grade Level
Children's Quizzing includes children in grades 1 - 6, regardless of age. Children in the seventh grade participate in teen quizzing.

Description
Each Bible study book includes 20 Bible study lessons. Each lesson includes four learning zones. The weekly Bible study begins with the WOW (Wonder of the Word) learning zone. In this zone, children participate in a project or activity that introduces a concept in the Bible study passage. The second learning zone, POWER (Power of the Word), takes children through a verse-by-verse study. The third learning zone, the Challenge Zone, provides an opportunity for children to test their Bible knowledge. The fourth learning zone is the Surprise Zone. The Surprise Zone includes a Bible memory activity and active Bible review games.

Competition
All children's Quizzing competitions are to be held in accordance with the Children's Quizzing Official Rules and Procedures.
There are five levels of competition. They are:

  1. Invitational/Practice - These competitions are held during the competition year. They cover a selected number of studies. They help children review facts and learn competition procedures.
  2. Zone/Area - These competitions are held at the end of the quiz year. Quizzers from every church in the zone/ area attend the competition. A designated number of winners advance to the district competition.
  3. District - The district competition is the highest level of competition on the district. Zone/Area winners advance to the district competition.
  4. State/Regional - The district winners advance to the state/regional competition.
  5. World - Children who qualify at the district competition advance to the world competition.

Practice
The children and their coaches meet on Sundays at 4:45pm for practice and some light refreshments.
