CARAVAN 'LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN!'

CARAVAN is a Christian scouting-type program for children in grades one through six. Its purpose is to promote spiritual, mental, physical, and social development. In Caravan children study a special curriculum and participate in a program of advancement based on earning badges.

The word CARAVAN refers to a group of travelers on a journey. The Nazarene CARAVAN journey takes place each Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. Under the direction of an adult guide children begin a nine month journey in which they learn … about themselves … about their world … about other people … about their church … about God.

The accomplishments and skills the child achieves are marked by earned badges that are displayed on the official CARAVAN uniform.

The CARAVAN program begins in September and concludes in May. There is a registration fee of $5.00 with five monthly payments of $5 each for a total of $30. Please call (815) 726-5426 to enroll your child!

The CARAVAN program includes three club groups:

Searchers (1st & 2nd Grade)

This group will learn their membership requirements, and work on Physical Badge: Exercise, Health and Personal Care, Safety; Social Badge: Home & Family, Manners, Friends; Mental Badge: Art, Pets, Money; Spiritual Badge; Prayer, Our Church, Bible Memory; Outdoor Badge: Flowers, Birds, Nature walk; I Believe Badge: God, Bible, Sin/Salvation.

Explorers (3rd & 4th Grade)

They will learn their membership requirements, and work on Physical Badge: Physical Fitness; Social Badge: Etiquette; Mental Badge: Fire Safety; Spiritual Badge: Bible Memory; Articles of Faith: Numbers 1 - 4; & Four Electives.

Adventurers (5th & 6th Grade)

They will learn their membership requirements, and work on Physical Badge: Physical Development; Social Badge: Personal Management; Mental Badge: Photography; Spiritual Badge: History of the Church of the Nazarene; Articles of Faith: Numbers 9 - 12; & Four Electives.

There is a registration fee of $5.00 and monthly dues of $3.00. The program runs from the first Wednesday in September til the end of May.

BENSON'S BUDDIES 'A PRE-CARAVAN PROGRAM'

Benson's Buddies is designed to meet the special needs of four, five, and six-year-olds who are not yet in grade school. Your kids will love traveling with "Benson the Bus" on their Caravan journey! This program teaches children Christian character traits with fun, interactive activities that reflect the fast-paced world we live in. Also, Benson's Buddies familiarizes young children with the format and ceremonies of Caravan programming.
